We had a small taste of sunny weather recently and it got us thinking about some of our favourite corporate Summer event ideas.
Summer events are great for entertaining clients and prospects by providing an opportunity to network in a fun, relaxed environment. They can also be the perfect way to thank your employees for their hard work. Plus, they help bring your employees and departments closer, which can increase efficiency and productivity within the workplace.
We’ve put together this short guide, which will hopefully provide some inspiration for your Summer parties and corporate events.
Beach Party
Throw a party at the beach or bring the beach to your party with a fun beach party theme – think sand, deck chairs, colourful bunting and inflatable balls. Food stalls serving everyone’s favourite seaside snacks, such as chip butties, hot dogs, burgers and ice cream, will bring a taste of the beach to your event. Beach-inspired games, such as volleyball, tug of war and funfair rides, will provide plenty of excitement for everyone.
Hawaiian Luau
Take the beach theme a step further and transport your guests to a tropical island with fresh fruit cocktails with umbrellas and flower leis. Tiki huts, foliage and big tropical flowers will transform your event into a Hawaiian island. Hula dancers, fire shows and Luau party games will immerse your guests in Hawaiian culture. Your guests could also have a lot of fun dressing up – think, loud, printed shirts, floral headbands and grass skirts.
Summer Festival
Breakaway from the mould with a boutique outdoor festival. With your very own festival tent and decor, live music, walkabout entertainment, interactive games and delicious drinks and food stations, you could have your very own mini Glastonbury!
Boat Day
Boating is great for team building and it’s a fun way to spend the day. Find a park or beach area with picnic tables or pavilions, where you can set up a home base with plenty of food and drinks. Rent canoes, kayaks or even paddle boats to spend the day enjoying the water. Find ways to keep the groups mixed up and come up with fun ideas like races to keep things interesting.
Ibiza – Cafe del Mar Party
Inspired by the iconic Cafe del Mar with its chill-out music under the sunset, this party will really get your guests into the Summer spirit. Recreate the Cafe del Mar with white chill out furniture and twinkly lights. Use LED decor/furniture to transform your event into an Ibiza nightclub as the night draws in. You will also need some fun and extravagant entertainment. We would recommend dancers, showgirls, fire shows and of course an A list DJ. With cocktails flowing and BBQ on the menu, your guests will feel like they are in Ibiza.
Outdoor Cinema
Treat your guests to a cinema experience like no other. Enjoy a classic film under the sky, lounging on bean bags or deck chairs. Bring in food and drink stalls with cinema essentials, such as popcorn and candy floss, for a real Summer film festival vibe. Host the screening on the grounds of a stately home, in a cave or on a rooftop for a unique setting.
Office Olympics
This is one of our favourite corporate Summer event ideas and it’s fabulous for team building. Venues with large outdoor spaces work perfectly for this. Plan some activities and challenges outside, provide branded medals and feel-good music, and let your team work up an appetite before heading into your venue for a quick change and a delicious meal.
