Launch event for the restoration project of Eye Witness Works, a purpose-built cutlery works dating back to the 19th century.
The challenge
Capital & Centric were given the green light to restore the iconic Eye Witness Works building, as part of a larger regeneration project in Sheffield City Centre. To launch this project they wanted to hold a launch event showcasing their future plans for the building. The client came to us for a full event management service, from event design and decor to coordination of all event logistics and live event delivery.

The outcome
To fit in with the feel of the Grade II listed building, we opted for industrial style decor. We brought in metal tables and stools, decorated with natural plants and candles, rustic wooden mobile bars and plenty of twinkly lights and mood up-lighting throughout the venue. Some branding touches were added with a big screen playing promotional videos, branded gobo lights projecting onto the building walls and branded posters.
For the event catering, we brought in a pizza oven serving freshly made stone-baked pizzas, a beer bar serving branded bottles of local beer and a gin bar serving a variety of gins, wines and soft drinks.
During the evening, we played Cafe Del Mar style background music to create a chilled, relaxed atmosphere. In addition, guests were treated to private viewing of street artist Phlegm’s Mausoleum of Giants art exhibition, which was hosted in the building and had attracted thousands of visitors from across the world in the weeks prior to the event.
Overall, the event was a big success with over 270 guests in attendance.
